    Vehicle Description:
This is a very rare find, classic luxury performance with aftermarket performance upgrades to boot. This car is a matching numbers original factory Home Office Reserve car, which meant it was built with every available option and sent to the home office in Detroit for advertising, promotional and executive use. They typically only made 3 or 4 cars a year with this designation. These are the vehicles that would be used for advertisements, shown to the public on tour or lent to the major magazines for testing. These 3-4 vehicles would be built in different colors, this one being originally Platinum Beige, which means in all likelihood this is the famous 1964 Marauder Fastback Sedan depicted on the Pikes Peak Proven advertisements from 1964. This 'Home Office Reserve' designation is coded in the data plate and unique to this VIN number. This car came from the factory with every available option, power windows, power steering, power seats, cruise control, air conditioning and more. The sub model is Parklane, which is the highest trim option. I have yet to see another one with all of these options.

This vehicle still sports its factory original driveline, but has had performance modifications such as an aluminum large tube radiator and 445ci stroker engine rebuild to put out 500hp. The transmission was rebuilt also at the same time. We are told this rebuild was done when the car had an original 80,000 miles on the chassis, which means it has about 9,000 miles on restoration. This is a great looking and great driving Marauder with room for the entire family. It cruises easily at 70-80mph with its highway geared rear end and 3 speed Merc-o-matic transmission. This car came from the factory with every available option. Of course it has the power windows, which have been rebuilt with new modern motors and mechanisms and it also came with the 6 way power seat (currently not working). It is a factory air car! ICE COLD! The original A/C compressor stopped working so we have had it rebuilt with modern parts. We had a new modern condenser, dryer and compressor parts installed from Classic Auto Air and its converted to R134a. It was blowing out at 38 degrees when we tested it in the warehouse, and the warmest I saw while driving was 48 degrees. The blower and everything still works. This vehicle had the very rare dual fan switch for heat and a/c, nearly impossible to find functional representations today. The most rare option would be the cruise control, utilizing the ‘Price-is-Right’ style thumb-wheel on the dash top and a switch to lock in the speed. This under-hood unit then read the speedometer cables to control the speed. We are missing one cable which prevents this feature from functioning, but we are told this cable can be built special order. We can help with this if needed.

The paint is hotrod Satin Black and the body alignment is very good. The hood, trunk and doors open and close beautifully. There are a few misc nicks and scrapes, this car was driven frequently and enjoyed. There is slight paint lifting starting to happen on the small resin pieces. We can get any touchups done prior to delivery if you want to discuss. No evidence of filler repairs or poor body work, very solid and clean. This car was obviously built with performance in mind, and it performs its intended job well, it runs amazing. Incredibly low, loping rumble at idle with an unmistakable shake that lets you know something is going on under the hood, morphing into a nascar-esque scream when you get on the gas. It simply sounds as mean as it looks and will likely send the other vehicles in your garage scattering for safety. When I drove it I was certainly impressed by the acoustics and powerful feel, but thanks to the rear end gearing and the wide ratio transmission the acceleration is tame and easily controllable, no fear of it getting out of hand unless you want it to. This is also aided by the 275/55/17 rear tire footprint which keeps you planted and stable. It felt best when getting on the open road and letting it run up to 80mph in an effortless fashion. The engine and transmission rebuilds alone totaled more than $15,000. The parts list alone is $30,000. The previous owner spent over $45,000 rebuilding this car from its previously derelict state, and thats what it would cost you to duplicate, except that you'll very likely never again see another Home Office Reserve car with factory A/C and cruise control to start with.

This car just as it is now starts right up and drives great! The previous owner restored the entire interior. Everything is working and in top shape except as has been mentioned. Lots of nice options, bench seats restored in original leather & houndstooth materials, lap belts, cigar lighter. The car has factory power steering and factory power front disc brakes as well, making driving enjoyable and effortless. The state registration and inspection is current. A very great looking, great driving classic!

Tires are great with deep tread on aftermarket 17” wheels. 275mm wide in the rear and 225mm in the front. The trim is all in pretty great original condition. The rear ParkLane quarter emblems are off the car but come with it. The passenger side fender Marauder emblem was not on the car in these photos as it was missing but we found a replacement and it is installed now. The hood ornament is not original to 1964 and appears to be a 40’s or 50’s era Mercury God Head hood ornament that was added to accentuate the hotrod feel of this car. This car has been stored indoors in a private collection. All of the glass is good and works very well. The glovebox is in new condition. The steering wheel is in original and has some cracking and missing resin but the horn operates properly. We can have replaced with a new woodgrain wheel if the buyer would prefer. The car comes equipped with an onboard battery tender to plug in during storage so you never have to worry about your battery in the event you cannot drive the car regularly.

The interior is in amazing condition. The seats appear near mint and very comfortable, remade in original patterns with houndstooth and leather just like the original. The lights all work including the fender mounted turn signal indicators for the driver. The weatherstripping is in decent original condition with some cracking and age, but is the same as a 4 door galaxie so can be replaced. The car runs and drives amazing. I have driven it alot for testing and pleasure and it is alot of fun and gets alot of attention. The car has no mechanical problems that we can find. We are confident that you could drive this car anywhere.

Cruise in style with something unique and different, stand out from the mustangs and camaros, this one is available just in time!

Other than the above, the car looks amazing, drives well and gets alot of attention. Very fun car to take to the local meet or cruise around town. We have driven the car 150 mile round trips into Houston and never had any problems. I have used it particularly for longer drives that span several hours due to its highway comfort and a/c. Keep in mind it is 58 years old and not a new car, but it is in amazing condition considering its age. You can hop in right now, drive home and enjoy.
